We have 8 children.
We own a farm.
We get by on prayer and grace.
We owe it all to God. Without Him we would be nothing and we strive to remember.Crazy8farmhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04407812047044988615noreply@blogger.comBlogger94125tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6115267640674018203.post-90773258103056952512011-11-24T12:50:00.001-05:002011-11-24T12:50:12.494-05:00A Truly Thankful ThanksgivingThis dog. The one who buries under the covers to sleep. The one who loves to jump on me and make my work clothes muddy......before I go to work. This same dog sunning himself....Saved our lives last night. To make a long story short, he barked his little head off at 3:00 am. Earl is not a "yappy" dog but he has his occasional fit now and then. It's mostly people driving by that irritates him (Crazy8farmhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04407812047044988615noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6115267640674018203.post-5844848321919634592011-10-11T08:56:00.001-04:002011-10-11T08:56:55.448-04:00This is absolutely insane........Really? I live on a mile long dirt road. My road connects to the same road it veers off of.
The township workers are working on it today. The beeping from their backing up is making me even crazier than I already am. That's pretty bad, trust me.
So I'm reverting to my happy place........
Ok. Much better.
Have a wonderful beep less day!!!!

Sorry.
Let's review, shall we?
Drove home from vacation.
Goodbye gorgeous beach sunrise...........
Hello beautiful home sunset!
Jake turned 21.
Enough said.
My three oldest-23, 22, and 21.
How did this happen?? I thought I was only 29?
We had hay to do........
Oh! Then we had a stinking hurricane headed our way.
Before the hurricane Crazy8farmhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04407812047044988615noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6115267640674018203.post-27695113684364775342011-08-20T08:38:00.001-04:002011-08-20T08:38:50.446-04:00The BeachMyrtle Beach to be exact. My view this morning. Yesterday. The day before yesterday. Wait. That picture was from the farm before I left. Oh no. I think I'm getting home sick. I found a tractor on the beach. This excites me. Different colored tractors even. It's good to get away, but it's always a great feeling to come home!Yes, home!Love, me. Thank the good Lord we got a soaker yesterday and as I'm writing this on my phone, it's storming outside so hard, our electricity went down. Again. Why do everyone of the boys in this house have to poop when the electric goes out?Just asking. And no, that is definitely not one of my favorite things. Back to that....EarlEarl Crazy8farmhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04407812047044988615noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6115267640674018203.post-4563940833350088312011-07-22T10:38:00.000-04:002011-07-22T10:38:21.506-04:00It Broke.........I haven't posted in a while?
It just broke.
My camera.
The computer keyboard.
My tire on my car. Front passenger side to be exact.
I dropped my iPhone in the toilet.
You heard me right.
It. Fell. In. The. Toilet.
When this happens you must very quickly grab the phone out of the toilet, and wrap it in a towel and shake like crazy to get out the excess water. Yes, this will help.

I wasn't listening to myself very well, because I now have a new, as in new this winter Frigidaire gas oven that is torn apart. My children were wrestling around and broke off a burner knob, also breaking Crazy8farmhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04407812047044988615noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6115267640674018203.post-86016209235012739312011-06-09T18:31:00.000-04:002011-06-09T18:31:51.054-04:00We interrupt this week for.............

When I grow up, I want to be............................
I still haven't figured it out yet.
If you can answer the question, you're a lot smarter than me.
I'll just sit and wait for my guiding light...........

When you're unloading hay, it's never good to realize you forgot your deoderant that morning.
Your brother will let you know right away.
You might get hot doing all this work.
Just saying...

We mow the hay, we ted the hay, we rake the hay. Sometimes we ted the hay twice, and rake it twice. Then we bale the hay.
I think.
Sometimes the Amish ask us for balage. We ususally deal with small hay bales, the ones you can throw with your own two hands.
We used to make balage (hay wrapped in plastic).
That was many moons ago in a different lifetime.
Lately though, the Amish families Crazy8farmhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04407812047044988615noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6115267640674018203.post-82905078664686017512011-05-24T20:09:00.000-04:002011-05-24T20:09:19.662-04:00Just a couple of things.....
This is what my son says after I crank at him, and his brothers for throwing off my meat wrapping groove to take them water. Then I apologized and told them I'd make them cheeseburger stromboli!Yes, I was listening to "Pocketful of Sunshine"!!
I Love This Picture.
I also love going to the hay auction.
My kids love the dog.
They love this dog too.

Spring.
That one word can strike fear and elation into this farmwife's heart.
It means the hay starts growing.
For the record, this is rye, not hay.
Spring means the rain doesn't seem to stop falling+the moat around my house=an even dirtier floor.
It also means tulips, daffodils, and all the other flowers start blooming. Scratch off my tulips, my deer ate them all.
The weeds look Crazy8farmhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04407812047044988615noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6115267640674018203.post-1722985397618048562011-04-26T16:15:00.000-04:002011-04-26T16:15:45.756-04:00It's that time again....The time when my allergies go haywire (no pun intended), and the weeds start to grow.
Wait, the weeds have been growing since like February.
A Lot. A Lot, A Lot.
Last week, I challenged my couch bound zombie-killing boys to run up the tractor path. I told them the last one up had to do the dishes.
That's one way of getting them off the couch!
I had to stop at least 3 times on the way Crazy8farmhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04407812047044988615noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6115267640674018203.post-50046592375898448322011-04-10T01:31:00.000-04:002011-04-10T01:31:06.641-04:00Funny Story...........So when I go to work, at the hospital at 2:20 in the afternoon, I ususally don't have time to do the dishes before I leave. Besides, until I get home, the family has eaten at least one more meal and they will pile up for me. So to make things easy on myself, I ask the boys to please at least load and unload the dishwasher for the night.
Makes sense, right?
I think so too.
They aren't buying Crazy8farmhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04407812047044988615noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6115267640674018203.post-79269486617837495942011-04-01T21:21:00.000-04:002011-04-01T21:21:29.001-04:00My my, how time flies when I'm having fun........Actually, I'm playing around with my iPhone.
I downloaded these "horrible, wonderful" photography apps, and I can't stop playing with them.....
My boys going fishing with Goat.
Cody's new motorcycle...
I have enhanced almost every photo I've taken, and I'm loving it!!

The temperature is supposed to reach 70 degrees. The sun is shining, the wind is pretty tame, and the mud is trying to dry up.
Meet Pouf, one of our many farm cats.
Pouf is a very fluffy kitty. She's almost grown, and she likes to go under my feet when I get home from work at night and trip me right into the mud.

Part 3So you know by now we sell hay for a living.
Our hay truck has ideas of it's own, but we scold it and bring it back into the light.
About two weeks ago, our 3rd oldest son, Jake took a load of hay to the auction for us. Riding shotgun was our 3rd youngest son, Wade.
Everyone at the auction was talking about the DOT checkpoint. Maybe many of you know of it as a weigh station. It's where the Crazy8farmhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04407812047044988615noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6115267640674018203.post-83528564011530553252011-03-15T19:00:00.000-04:002011-03-15T19:00:18.651-04:00Our Bad, Bad Hay Truck ..........part 2.Our second oldest son works for Gotwal's.
There's three parts to Gotwal's. They have Brookledge, which is a cross country horse hauling operation, Gotwal's shop which fixes all the tractor trailers, and Expressway which is the regular hauling part of Gotwals.
There's also shops in Kentucky, and Florida.
Our son, Dane loves working for Gotwals. He loves driving tractor trailer, hauling horses,Crazy8farmhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04407812047044988615noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6115267640674018203.post-34414204295231401052011-03-14T18:52:00.000-04:002011-03-14T18:52:00.511-04:00We have this farm truck............For our truck's safety, I can't post any pictures.
Our hay truck is in a line-up.
It was accused of a hit and run by another person.
Oh dear, how will we ever tame our truck? I mean, it's old enough, it was born in 1986. We adopted it about 5 years ago. We love and cherish our truck, we even gave it a new flatbed.
This is how it treats us...........
